Policy Priorities
Advancing the Issues That Matter Most to TCUs
AIHEC develops strategies to address the policy issues most critical to Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) and the Native students and communities they serve. Our policy priorities are informed by our member institutions and grounded in the unique political status of Tribal Nations, the federal trust and treaty responsibility, and the distinct role of TCUs in Tribal communities.
AIHEC monitors developments affecting Tribal higher education, brings TCU expertise and perspectives to policymakers and partners, and works to advance policies that support TCUs and the students and Tribal communities they serve.
