In this module we will discuss some digital tools that can be used successfully in language documentation projects. These include tools used to create, manage, and transform language materials (data). We will discuss evaluation metrics when selecting digital tools as well as provide discussion and examples of how these tools are used in different ways for different types of documentation projects.

1. Identifying need for digital tools
2. Determining best tools for storing and analyzing text, editing audio/video, creating transcriptions, and preparing materials for archiving.
3. Evaluating hardware and software options
4. Use and management of digital tools
